2. Age Requirement
The App is intended exclusively for individuals 18 years of age or older.
Before completing account creation, you must affirmatively select a checkbox stating: “I confirm that I am 18 years of age or older.”
We use this age confirmation to enforce eligibility for the App. We do not require your date of birth or government-issued identification solely for this age confirmation.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18 through the App. If we learn that an account belongs to a person under 18, we will delete the account and its associated personal information.
If you believe a person under 18 has created an account, contact info@milesaheadtennis.com with the subject “Underage Account.”
Junior clinics, camps, and lessons for players under 18 are handled separately through Miles Ahead Tennis and are not accessed through the App. See Section 15.

Data minimization. We collect only what is relevant and necessary for the functions described above. Optional fields are marked optional in the App, and declining them does not prevent you from using core features.
Through the App, we do not ordinarily collect date of birth, government ID numbers, financial account numbers, or health records, and we do not intentionally collect data revealing your race, religion, sexual orientation, union membership, or political views. Separate youth-program registration outside the App may include limited medical or accessibility information voluntarily provided by a parent or legal guardian, as described in Section 15. Please do not put sensitive information in your profile, messages, or uploads unless it is reasonably necessary for a feature you choose to use.
We do not use your personal information to train general-purpose AI models.
4. Device Permissions
The App asks your device for permission before accessing anything below. You can grant or deny each one, and change your mind at any time in iOS Settings → Miles Ahead Tennis. Denying a permission does not block you from using the App; it disables the related feature.
Calendar access is write-only — we add only the match you ask us to add, and we never read your existing calendar events.
| Permission | Used for | If you deny it |
|---|---|---|
| Location (While Using the App) | Finding courts and players near you | Enter a ZIP code or area manually |
| Camera | Recording video for stroke feedback; taking a profile photo | Upload from your library instead |
| Photo Library | Uploading existing photos or video | Use the camera, or skip uploads |
| Notifications | Booking confirmations, match reminders, replies from other members | Check the App directly for updates |
| Calendar | Adding a scheduled match to your calendar, if you choose to | Note the match time yourself; nothing else changes |
5. Location
We ask for location permission during onboarding and explain why before the system prompt appears. You may decline, and you may change your answer at any time.
- Precise location is collected only while the App is in use, and only after you grant permission.
- We use it to determine your general area and approximate distance to other members, courts, and match requests. We do not need or keep a detailed record of where you go.
- We do not collect location in the background and do not build a history of your movements.
- Other members never see your coordinates. They see only the general area you choose to display and an approximate distance.
Revoke permission any time in iOS Settings. Previously collected location data is deleted with your account or on request.
6. Video, Photos, and Coaching Evaluations
If you submit media for coaching feedback or evaluation:
- We store it and share it with the coach or instructor you selected. It is not public and is not shown to other members unless you choose to publish it.
- Evaluations are written by human coaches. We do not run automated biometric analysis on your video, do not create a faceprint or any identifier capable of recognizing you, and do not sell, license, or disclose your media to any third party for that third party’s own purposes.
- Retention. Video you submit for evaluation is kept as part of your coaching record for as long as your account is active, so that you and your coach can look back at earlier strokes and track your progress. We do not delete it automatically. Written evaluations are kept on the same basis. You can delete any upload in the App at any time, and we will delete it if you email us. Everything is deleted when you delete your account.
- Other people in your video. Do not upload video featuring people who have not agreed to appear, and never upload video of a child without that child’s parent’s permission.
7. What Other Members Can See
The App is social by design. Other members can see your display name, profile photo, bio, skill level, general playing area, availability, membership tenure and badges, rosters for events you have joined, and messages you send them.
You control this in Profile → Settings → Privacy, including the option to hide your profile from discovery. Anything visible to others can be screenshotted or saved by them.
8. Payments
Subscriptions and event fees purchased through the App are processed by Apple’s In-App Purchase system, subject to Apple’s privacy policy. Apple provides us your subscription status and transaction identifier; Apple does not give us your payment method.
Purchases made on our website are processed by Stripe, Inc., subject to Stripe’s privacy policy. Stripe collects your card details directly. We never receive or store your full card number.
10. Tracking and Advertising
We do not track you across apps or websites owned by other companies, and we do not use third-party advertising SDKs. We therefore do not present the App Tracking Transparency prompt.
If we introduce advertising or attribution tools in the future, we will update this Policy, describe what changes, and — where tracking is involved — request your permission through Apple’s App Tracking Transparency prompt before any tracking begins.
Our website uses cookies to keep you signed in, remember preferences, and measure traffic. You can control these in your browser.
11. Sign in with Apple
If you use Sign in with Apple, we receive your name and the email address you choose to share, which may be an Apple private relay address. We will not disable, block, interrupt, or degrade your ability to use a private relay address, and we will not ask you to replace it with a different address. All email we send works normally with relay addresses.
12. Retention
| Data | Retained for |
|---|---|
| Account and profile | While your account is active |
| Uploaded video and evaluations | Kept while your account is active so you can track progress; deleted only when you delete it, request deletion, or delete your account |
| Messages | While your account is active |
| Crash and diagnostic logs | 90 days |
| Payment and tax records | 7 years, as required by law |
| Backups containing deleted data | Overwritten within 30 days |
After you delete your account, we erase your personal information within 30 days, except payment records we must keep for tax and accounting purposes and any records we are legally required to preserve. Aggregated or de-identified data that cannot reasonably be linked to you may be retained.
13. Deleting Your Account and Withdrawing Consent
In-App account deletion. You can permanently delete your account and its associated personal information directly in the App: Profile → Settings → Delete Account. The App will confirm your choice and explain what is deleted. No email, phone call, or support ticket is required.
You may also email info@milesaheadtennis.com from your account address with the subject “Delete My Account” and we will delete your account within 30 days.
Deleting individual items. You can delete uploaded photos and videos, edit or clear profile fields, and leave events at any time in the App without deleting your account.
Withdrawing consent. You can withdraw any consent you have given:
- Location, camera, photos, notifications — iOS Settings → Miles Ahead Tennis → toggle off
- Marketing email — unsubscribe link in any marketing email, or Profile → Settings → Communication
- SMS — reply STOP
- Account-based processing — delete your account, subject to information we are permitted or required to retain as described in Section 12
Withdrawing consent does not affect processing that already occurred, and it does not stop transactional messages necessary to run a booking you have made.
Cancelling a subscription purchased through the App is done in iOS Settings → Apple Account → Subscriptions. Cancelling a subscription does not delete your account; deleting your account does not automatically cancel an Apple subscription.
14. Security
We protect information with encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest, hashed passwords, role-based access controls limiting staff access to what their role requires, and periodic review of our providers. No system is perfectly secure and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If a breach affects your personal information, we will notify you as required by law.
15. Youth Programs
The App is intended exclusively for individuals age 18 and older. Users must confirm that they are at least 18 years old before completing account creation. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18 through the App. If we learn that we have, we delete it promptly.
Junior clinics and camps are registered by a parent or legal guardian through Miles Ahead Tennis directly — not through the App. Where a parent registers a child, we collect the child’s first name, age, and any medical or accessibility notes the parent provides, used only to run the program and contact the parent. The child receives no login, profile, messaging access, or visibility in player matching.
Parents may review, correct, delete, or refuse further collection of their child’s information by contacting info@milesaheadtennis.com with the subject “Child Privacy Request.” We do not condition participation on disclosing more information than is reasonably necessary. We do not use third-party analytics or advertising in connection with children’s data.
Event photography. We may photograph or record classes and events for promotional use. Parents may opt out at registration or by contacting us.
16. Your Rights
Everyone may access and update their profile, request a copy of their personal data, delete their account, and control permissions and communications as described in Section 13.
Residents of California, Virginia, Maryland, Colorado, Connecticut, and other states with comprehensive privacy laws have the right to know what personal information we collect and how we use it; to access, correct, and delete it; to obtain a portable copy; and to opt out of sale, sharing, targeted advertising, and certain profiling. As stated above, we do not sell or share personal information for targeted advertising and do not conduct profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects.
We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights. Email info@milesaheadtennis.com with the subject “Privacy Request.” We verify identity through your account email and respond within 45 days, with one extension where permitted. An authorized agent may submit a request with written permission. If we deny a request you may appeal by replying to our response; if we deny the appeal, you may contact your state attorney general.
17. Location of Processing
The Services are offered to users in the United States. We and our providers store and process data in the United States. If you access the Services from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to and processed in the U.S., where privacy laws differ from those in your country.
18. Changes
We may update this policy. If changes are material we will notify you in the App or by email before they take effect and update the date above. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the update.
